Today, we visited the Lord Mayor of Wollongong.
I was very nervous and anxious.
But I felt relieved when I met  him  because he was very friendly and talked to us a lot. 
He told us the story about when he came to Japan. 
It made me happy to know that he enjoyed his trip to Japan.
The mayor showed us around his office.
I was surprised that the conference room was really big and had a lot of seats.
The view from the room was really nice, and the mayor told us that he could see the whole Wollongong from there.
Then we gave him with tenugui, a traditional Japanese towel, and a copy of Doraemon, drawn by a manga artist from Kawasaki.
In return, the mayor gave us books about Australian animals and beautiful pens.
It was a wonderful experience for us.

〈訳〉
今日はウーロンゴン市長を訪ねました。
私は緊張と不安でいっぱいでした。
しかし、お会いしてみると、市長はとても気さくな方で、たくさん話しかけてくださったので、安心しました。
日本へ来た時のお話も聞かせてくださいました。
日本への旅を楽しんだことをお聞きし、とてもうれしく思いました。
市長はオフィスを案内してくださいました。
会議室がとても大きく、たくさんの席があることに驚きました。
また、会議室からの眺めはとてもよく、そこからウーロンゴン全体を見渡すことができるとおっしゃっていました。
そして、手ぬぐいと川崎の漫画家が描いたドラえもんの漫画を差し上げました。
お返しに、オーストラリアの動物の本や美しいペンをくださいました。
私たちにとって素晴らしい経験となりました。
